State Representative Kevin Miller (R-Newark) announced that the USDA Supplemental Disaster Relief Program (SDRP) application is now open. This program offers financial assistance to farmers affected by natural disasters in 2023 and 2024, with $16 billion in federal funding available.

Eligible producers include those who suffered losses due to natural disasters occurring in 2023 or 2024. These disasters encompass wildfires, hurricanes, floods, derechos, excessive heat, tornadoes, winter storms, freeze events (including polar vortex), smoke exposure, excessive moisture, qualifying droughts, and related conditions.

To apply for SDRP, producers must submit the FSA-526 form along with other required forms on file with the FSA.
