Knox County’s 66 coaches earned an average salary of $36,579 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the 20th highest average salary per county earned by coaches at Ohio post-secondary schools during 2022.

Knox County is home to two post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, Kenyon College stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $40,337.

Male coaches of men's teams received $37,099 on average in Knox County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $33,104.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
