State Reps. Jeff LaRe and Kevin Miller have successfully secured $10 million for the development of Buckeye Lake North Shore Park and Pier. The funding, obtained through the Strategic Community Investment Fund, aims to enhance Ohio's first State Park and bolster the region's tourism industry.
LaRe emphasized the significance of the funding, stating, "Buckeye Lake is a critical economic driver of our region. This funding will ensure generations to come get to experience the beauty of the Buckeye Lake Region and surrounding communities."
Miller echoed LaRe's sentiments, highlighting the transformative impact of the funding on the Buckeye Lake Region. He stated, "This funding will work to transform the Buckeye Lake Region, making it a space for residents and visitors to enjoy for years to come. We must capitalize on what makes our area unique to boost tourism and support the local economy."
The Strategic Community Investment Fund, established as part of Substitute House Bill 2, is set to allocate historic investments for various local projects throughout Ohio. These investments, including the $10 million for Buckeye Lake North Shore Park and Pier, will be integrated into the larger State Capital Budget bill, which serves as a two-year construction budget for capital projects.
At present, House Bill 2 is awaiting review and deliberation by the Ohio Senate.
