Mount Vernon home prices fall in the second quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the second quarter of 2018 in Mount Vernon fell by $970 while total sales remained unchanged with 65 homes sold, according to BlockShopper.com.

From April through June of 2018, there were 65 homes sold, with a median sale price of $99,900 - a 1% decrease over the $100,870 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 65 homes sold in Mount Vernon in the second quarter of 2017, as well.

The median sales tax in Mount Vernon for 2018 was $1,257. In 2017, the median sales tax was $1,231. This marks an increase of 2%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.3%.
