City of Mount Vernon Auditor, Terry Scott had this to say about the new funding available through the CARES Act. "Any small business that meets the employee requirements of at least 1 employee up to 25 employees, as of January 1, 2020 should take a look at this state grant opportunity.  The application process is rather easy to execute.  If you were a recipient of other CARES Act funding by the federal government, you are still eligible to participate in this state grant opportunity.  Eligible costs are rent, mortgage, utilities and supplies to name a few.  Check out the exclusion listing provided in the application portal.  You can begin applying on November 2, 2020.  This is a state wide offering, every small business will be in search of operating resources, don't be left out."
