City of Mount Vernon issued the following announcement on Oct. 24.
The City of Mount Vernon will begin leaf pick-up on Monday, November 2, 2020. An updated schedule can be found at the link below on the city website.
The machines will be picking up all of the main streets first, then proceed to the side streets and outlying areas.
We emphasize that leaves be raked to the curb, but NOT OUT INTO THE STREET. RAKING LEAVES INTO THE STREET RESULTS IN CLOGGING UP STORM SEWERS.
PLEASE REFRAIN FROM PARKING ON THE STREET WHEN LEAF PICK UP IS SCHEDULED FOR THAT AREA. (tn)
