Cost of college went up for all students at Ohio State University-Newark Campus

In-state tuition and fees rose 7.1 percent for 2018-19 at Ohio State University-Newark Campus, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Ohio residents paid $7,644 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $504 more than the $7,140 charged for 2017-18.

Non-resident students would have paid 261.9 percent more than residents this year, or $27,660. Non-resident tuition and fees grew 5.4 percent from $26,244 in 2017-18.

100 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Ohio residents.

Data shows 82 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 923 students received grants or scholarships totaling $4.4 million and 688 students took out student loans totaling more than $3.9 million.

Including all undergraduates (2,882), 1,743 students used grants or scholarships totaling $9.1 million, and 1,290 students took out $7.4 million in federal student loans.
