76 percent of applicants to Mount Vernon Nazarene University were admitted for fall 2018

At Mount Vernon Nazarene University, 78 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 63 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Mount Vernon enrolled 2,243 students in fall 2018, including 1,838 in undergraduate and 405 in graduate programs, data shows. 8.2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

86 percent of undergraduates are residents of Ohio, and 13 percent are residents of other states. 2 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (85 percent) and Black or African American (3 percent).

The school admitted 76 percent of the 1,427 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 35 percent enrolled.
